Privacy Policy — Transcribee

The short version. Transcribee does not collect, transmit, or store any of your data on our servers — because there are no servers. Everything you record stays on your iPhone.
What Transcribee stores, and where
When you record a note, Transcribee saves the following locally on your device:
- The audio recording
- The text transcript
- The note's title, tags, date, and duration
- Any AI-generated summary or insight
This data lives in the app's private storage on your iPhone. It is included in your device backups (iCloud or local) if you have backups enabled, under Apple's terms — we never receive it.
What we collect
Nothing. Transcribee has:
- No account or sign-in
- No analytics or telemetry
- No advertising or tracking identifiers
- No third-party SDKs
- No network requests of its own
Microphone
Transcribee requests microphone access solely to record the voice notes you explicitly choose to record. Audio is written to your device's local storage and is never uploaded.
Speech recognition and AI features
Transcription is performed on your device using Apple's on-device speech recognition. Summaries and weekly or monthly insights are generated on your device using Apple Intelligence. Your recordings and transcripts are not sent to us or to any third party for processing.
AI features require a device that supports Apple Intelligence. On devices that do not, those features are simply unavailable — the rest of the app works normally.
Sharing and export
You can export a note as plain text, Markdown, or PDF. Exporting is always an action you initiate. When you share an exported file, it goes wherever you send it, and that destination's own privacy policy applies from that point on. Transcribee does not send your data anywhere on its own.
Deleting your data
You can delete any note from within the app, which removes its transcript and its audio file from your device. Deleting the app removes all Transcribee data from your device.
Children
Transcribee is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new "last updated" date.
